Homestead Pics

I’ve finally received pictures of the new stone skirt at the 1787 Seth Babb Homestead and it looks great!

It’s been a long slog, as it always seems to be with this place. But the end result is well worth it. The stone will protect the entire structure for as long as it stands.

This is another improvement on the original design. In the original location the beams sat directly on the soil, so there was no protection from the elements, which is what lead to the rotted beams that nearly toppled it.

What’s next you ask? The space between the top of the Wall and the bottom beam of the Homestead will be Chinked and Daubed. New porches will be installed on the front and the back of the home and a few other minor repairs inside the home will be conducted. After that we can sit back and enjoy our free time. LOL

Cheers!
