Today we discuss the son of Henry Richard Babb by the name of Ernest Henry (Harry) Luther Babb. It seems that Ernest was all about what the rest of the world calls “Football”. For the Yanks in the group, this is similar to American Football, but the ball is round instead of pointy. There is no catching the ball unless you stand at the goal line. Because the ball is on the ground, the pointy thing would be a real problem. But I digress!
Ernest is the son of Henry Richard Babb, the Headmaster of the School of Art, Princess Square, Plymouth, and of the Municipal School of Art, Devonport. Below is the story of how Harry helped co-found the Plymouth Argyle Football Club.
