Where is Sauk County, Wisconsin you ask? Why it is a little county with a big heart in central Wisconsin. The rowdiest bunch of Babbs came through this area as pioneers and served as founders for the place we call Reedsburg, Wisconsin. Many stayed here, but many moved ton to become gunslingers, cowboys, captives and commanders. They left legends in their wake. Legends that must be explored. They were the rowdiest bunch of Babbs, until now!
During our reunion, we will retrace the life of James Wilson Babb (1-2-3-1-3-1) and family who left Ohio for the “Far West” and landed in what is now called Sauk County, Wisconsin in 1845. He established a homestead and gathered a total of 1500 acres of land, which became known as “Babb’s Prairie” which became known as the garden spot of Sauk County. The original Babb home, was lost to fire on 22 Jul 1861. It had been located near Greenwood Cemetery. We will visit both of these places. It should be noted that James Wilson Babb first came to the hamlet of Baraboo, WI. The town of Reedsburg was not established until 1850.
Just as James did, we will start our quest in the town of Baraboo, because there is no place better for our 3-Ring Circus, than to stay in the home of one of the founders of Ringling Brothers Circus. The Ringling House B&B (Pictured right), built in 1901 by Charles Ringling, will serve as our home base during our adventure. Book your room now at http://ringlinghousebnb.com/ or 608-356-4229. Note that there are discounts available for multi-night stays and for single occupancy rooms. This is a small place with only 6 rooms and I’d like to fill the place with Babb’s so we don’t disturb any other guests. So, make your arrangements without delay to arrive on July 3rd and depart on July 5th, 2016. Feel free to pass this message on to interested parties.
If your budget doesn’t allow for clowning around, there is a large variety of places nearby at affordable rates. You can see all the options here: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g59686-Baraboo_Wisconsin-Hotels.html

Great News! I look forward to meeting you in person. I’ve recently setup a Facebook Group for the reunion attendees. We will be posting items about the event to this group. It is open to the public, so you can still review it, even without a Facebook account. You can find the group here to join it: https://www.facebook.com/groups/739937319470525/
