The time has come for us to start discussing the 2027 Babb Family Association Reunion in London, Devon and Salisbury (read Stonehenge).

Stay tuned for reunion updates. I have a spectacular itinerary in mind that will blow your mind! Much work still needs to be done to try and bring this project home. While I have a general idea of what I’d like to cover, this Island of Kings is so chock full of history that I struggle to comprehend it myself. This makes planning difficult, to say the least.

However, there are some things that will be different about this next reunion. It will be more physical and demanding than anything we have tried thus far. There is no Americans w/Disabilities Act (ADA) in England. We will visit newly discovered Babb places that have NEVER been visited in prior reunions.

Note that this reunion will be different and is much more physically demanding. Registrants will be expected to climb up to 2-3 flights of stairs at times without needing oxygen, an elevator or a gurney. Train stations require you to transport your own luggage to the dock. Elevators and Escalators aren’t as common as they are in the US either. It’s fine if it takes you a couple of minutes to get there, but the London Metro is no place for walkers and Hoveround’s. We will typically walk about 1-2 miles per day with extended periods of standing and walking. There are simply too many places to visit and not enough time to accomplish it. We will engage in significant standing and walking activities over the course of the week. The only efficient way to get through London is underground in the Tube. Above ground transportation can take hours to go just a few miles and we simply can’t traverse this extremely complex city on a double decker bus. I’ve tried that and it is pointless.

Once we depart London for the countryside the job will be significantly easier. Most things will be at ground level and more rail or bus based. However, in a train-based transportation arrangement, you MUST be able to get your own luggage to the terminal and onto the train by yourself. While some of us may be able to assist, you cannot count on that.

I/we totally understand if you aren’t up for the task. Please feel free to bring a handler/assistant to help you through those few rough moments where we struggle to get from one place to another. We cannot provide that as a service so please plan to be prepared.

There is no need to register or put money down at this exact moment, but we are working with a travel agent that should be able to cut deeply into the total price you pay for the trip. More about that later.

We are just at the onset of our journey to the beforeworld. Who knows what the spirits will provide for us?!

We WILL Walk in Phillip’s footsteps. While we are there, we will also cross paths with at least a dozen other English Babb(s) lines.
