It’s time to jump back into the Green Men of Maryland Babb(s) lineage and realize the results of the tests we placed orders for late last year.
Below you will find the results of 2 new Y-DNA tests we conducted on the Green Men of Maryland lineage. We have a total of 6 Y-DNA test candidates that are represented. The areas that have a proven genetic connection are highlighted in 3 colors. It took me a while to figure out how I was going to tell this story as there is no good report in Family Tree Marker for this sort of situation. So, rather than spend 1000 words describing it, I went into PowerPoint and give you a picture that is worth 1000 words.

Candidates #1 & #2 are first cousins. They pair with candidate #3 to prove a connection back to Robert B. Babb 3-1-1-1-1 (1814-1888). They may be brothers or cousins, but are part of the same genetic lineage, which is numbered as #2A.
Given those two scenarios, the break in the genetics would have been introduced with either Beal Babbs (1765-1830) or Samuel Babb (1793-bet. 1830-1840). We would need additional tests from other descendants of these two to be able to determine which of the two was the child that was taken on to raise as their own.
Moving on to Candidate #6, we have no connection to anyone else in the tree and as we only have the single test on James Babb (3-3) descendants, we will need to wait for others to come forward and volunteer to take a Y-DNA test. Those tests will be paid for by the Babb Family Association for qualifying candidates. Please comment on this article if you are a descendant of James Babb (3-3).
This is a follow up to my previous post on this topic, which is below for your consideration.
