As discussed in recent posts, I had taken steps to upgrade the test results of our latest participant and added a new test from a brand-new volunteer. The first of those results is in and they confirm a close relationship between William Babb (3-1) and John Babbs (3-2).
The results came back with a 109 of 111-Marker match for the two participants. This drastically shortened the window of potential connection between the two. Previously, we had a 450-year window of opportunity for the connection. With the upgraded test, we narrowed that window by 200 years.

While that is still a very large window, we can narrow it down further by using the known paper records to eliminate the more recent part of that range.
John Babbs was born in 1756 and William in 1737, so no match exists prior to 1756, giving us a reduced range of 1650-1756. This is by no means a concrete answer, but it does demonstrate that their connection is likely before the time of our earliest Maryland Records we have at this time.
