Reunion Recap

I hardly even know where to begin! This was the best reunion I think we have ever had for the Babb Family Association. It was one highlight after another, and I’ll be bringing it to you over the next week or so. I’ve been in recovery mode since then as I needed some down time after leaving it all on the stage at the Handley Library in Winchester, VA.

For starters we have 40 attendees who arrived in the middle of an almost triple digit heatwave in Winchester. Anyone from the southern United States won’t think too much of it, just like I did. But in a departure from my normal routine in Dallas, we were outdoors quite a bit and the trolley we chartered from the Winchester Visitors & Convention Bureau struggled to keep up.

But undeterred we went about our trip and found our family, both old and new along the way.

This is where I’ll start!

We met the most wonderful journalist and had our journey cataloged by her in the Winchester Star! I’ve copied it here for posterity’s sake:

  1. Dan, as you stated, this reunion was filled with highlights. We met family once again and shared stories of the family. The places we visited were awesome! It was heart warming to see and visit with distant family. I loved the sites, but the extreme heat was difficult. I am from Memphis and not unfamiliar wit extreme heat and humidity. Dan, your book is amazing! I cannot wait until our next gathering in England!

  2. Thanks for your recap Dan. I thoroughly enjoyed our trip, your additional family research, your new book, etc. etc. Thank you! Keith
