An original painting by Ernest Henry (Harry) Babb has been discovered. The man, who discovered the unframed canvas in his grandmother’s attic, did a web search and found my 3-part series about Harry’s life and times.
He wrote to ask if there was any value to the painting. It’s a question that I simply cannot answer as there is no other surviving painting from this artist that we know of.
He decided to donate it to the Babb Family Association so that we could protect and preserve it. In a flash, arrangements were made and within a week or so the painting was passed on to our cousin Cherida (Cherry) who will be bringing it across the Atlantic in June.
We will get our first look at this piece dated 1903 at the Babb Family Reunion in Winchester, VA.
Stay tuned!
